Position: Home Manager

A well-established 50-bed Nursing and Residential Care Home providing high-quality nursing, residential, dementia, respite, and palliative care services. We are seeking an experienced, dynamic, and highly motivated Home Manager to provide strong leadership and ensure the continued delivery of outstanding care and operational excellence throughout the home.
The Role
As Home Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management, leadership, and performance of the home. You will ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of compassion, professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team, maintain high standards of clinical and residential care, support staff development, manage resources effectively, and ensure residents receive the highest quality care tailored to their individual needs.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Provide visible and effective leadership to all departments within the home.
- Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive working culture.
- Recruit, retain, motivate, and develop a skilled workforce.
- Conduct regular supervision, appraisals, and performance reviews.
- Lead by example and promote the organisation's values and standards.
Quality and Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with CQC regulations, Health and Social Care Act requirements, and all relevant legislation.
- Maintain high standards of care, safeguarding, infection prevention, health and safety, and risk management.
- Prepare for and lead regulatory inspections and audits.
- Implement quality improvement initiatives and action plans where required.
- Monitor outcomes and continuously improve service delivery.
Resident Care
- Ensure person-centred care plans are developed, implemented, and regularly reviewed.
- Promote dignity, choice, independence, and resident wellbeing.
- Build strong relationships with residents, relatives, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Address concerns and complaints professionally and effectively.
Financial and Operational Management
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently.
- Monitor occupancy levels and support business growth.
- Control expenditure while maintaining high-quality services.
- Oversee staffing levels and workforce planning.
- Ensure effective management of facilities, equipment, and home operations.
Staff Development
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Identify training needs and support career progression.
- Ensure mandatory training compliance across all departments.
- Promote staff wellbeing and engagement.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience as a Registered Home Manager, Deputy Manager, or Senior Manager within a nursing and/or residential care setting.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrable leadership and people management experience.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience managing budgets and operational performance.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external professionals.
- Commitment to delivering exceptional person-centred care.
Desirable Qualifications
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.
- Registered Nurse qualification (RGN/RMN) desirable.
- Proven track record of achieving positive inspection outcomes.
- Experience managing large care services and multidisciplinary teams.
Pay: £60,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
