Job Overview
A great and rare opportunity has arisen for a skilled and experienced Parts Advisor/Vehicle Damage Assessor at an award-winning family run business with 30 years of experience in the Mechanical and Bodyshop trade.
You will have a positive can-do attitude, a willingness to learn, hardworking, proactive, efficient, able to work alone and collaborate with the Bodyshop Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the ordering of parts and accessories and estimating accident damaged vehicles, brought in by customers and business' which we have a close working relationship with. The individual is to bring the knowledge and methods to ascertain the safest repair method. You will be required to have knowledge of Audatex and Autoflow, but training is available if required.
Your ability to communicate effectively and maintain organisation will be crucial in facilitating smooth operations within our parts department.
Experience preferred but not essential, training will be provided.
Salary of £23,000k-£28,000k depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Assist customers in identifying and sourcing the correct parts for their needs.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure that stock levels are optimised.
- Communicate clearly with customers over the phone, providing excellent phone etiquette at all times.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of parts and resolve any discrepancies.
- Organise the parts department to ensure a clean and efficient workspace.
- Provide support in training new staff on parts management procedures and systems.
- Stay updated on industry trends and product knowledge to better assist customers.
- Ascertaining accident circumstances
- Creating assessments/estimates
- Negotiating prices with suppliers
- Dealing with total loss vehicles
Requirements
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on customer service.
- Excellent organisational skills to maintain an orderly parts department.
- Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy when handling orders and inventory records.
- Prior experience in a similar role within the automotive or retail industry is preferred but not essential.
