Location: Remote
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm (Full-time; part-time opportunities may be available)
Salary: £32,000 – £34,000 p.a.

About the Role
We’re seeking an enthusiastic and passionate Qualifications Assessor to join our Learning & Development team. You’ll work collaboratively with learners, employers, and stakeholders to help learners and employees reach their full potential.
You will assess and support adult learners completing qualifications such as:
- TQUK Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (RQF)
- Children, Young People & Families Practitioner Apprenticeship Standard
- TQUK Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (RQF)
This is a blended role—primarily home-based with remote delivery, plus regular workplace visits to support and assess learners.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote ELA’s training and qualifications to employers and learners.
- Enrol learners onto apprenticeships and other qualifications.
- Provide information, advice, guidance, and initial assessments to identify learning needs.
- Ensure ESFA funding compliance, including recording in-learning evidence and Off-the-Job Training Hours via e-portfolio systems.
- Visit learners in the workplace as needed.
- Monitor and record learner progress monthly to ensure timely achievement.
- Deliver engaging teaching and learning for knowledge and functional skills components.
- Mentor and coach learners, addressing barriers to learning.
- Maintain professional development, including undertaking your own qualifications.
- Liaise regularly with your line manager and quality assurance team.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 1 year’s experience in supporting children and young people in a residential setting.
- Experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Level 3 (or above) in Residential Childcare (essential).
- Assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, D32, or equivalent).
- Level 2 (or above) in English, Maths, and ICT.
- Experience supporting children and young people in a residential setting.
- Confident in using Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and e-portfolio platforms (e.g., OneFile, Smart Assessor).
Desirable
- Teaching qualification (AET, PTTLS, or equivalent).
- Additional industry-specific qualifications.
