Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two Apprentice Fitters based at our Manufacturing Plant in Newbie. You will be allocated to an established team of Fitters and undertake a period of work-based training at the heart of our business.
This position is based in Newbie and reports to the Team Leader (Fitter).
Working Pattern: Mon-Thurs 8am-4:30pm, Fri 8am-1pm (37 hours per week)
Key Objectives
- To gain the requisite knowledge and experience to manufacture and assemble a diverse range of complex sub-assembly components for various boiler and combustion products to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Assembly and testing of industrial valves, water gauge cocks, protector assemblies and other associated boiler components.
- Assembly and testing of burners and combustion products.
- Fitting and removal of valves, controls and pipework assemblies to industrial steam and hot water boilers.
- Undertake maintenance and repair of manufacturing machinery and equipment.
Skills and Qualities Desirable from Post Holder
- A minimum of 5 National 4 passes including English, and Maths
- NC level in a relevant engineering discipline
- Good overall level of physical diversity
- Willing to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to work on own initiative.
