Responsibilities
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance monitoring
- Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
- Coordinate food production to meet service times and customer expectations
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with stock ordering to ensure efficient stock control
- Support in developing new menu items and culinary innovations
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned regularly
- Serve as a role model for team members by demonstrating excellent culinary skills and professionalism
Qualifications
- Proven supervisory experience within a busy kitchen environment
- Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is essential
- Knowledge of food production processes and culinary techniques
