Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organised Farm Shop Assistant to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing shop displays, and supporting daily operations within our farm shop. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, be able to work efficiently in a busy environment, and have a passion for local produce and customer satisfaction. Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in additional languages such as Spanish or other multilingual skills are highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their purchases, ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Maintain attractive and well-organised product displays through effective merchandising
- Provide detailed product information to customers, highlighting features and benefits
- Upsell products where appropriate to maximise sales opportunities
- Handle transactions accurately using the till system, including processing payments and issuing receipts
- Manage stock levels by restocking shelves and organising deliveries as required
- Keep the shop clean, tidy, and welcoming throughout the day
- Offer excellent phone etiquette when answering enquiries or taking orders over the phone
- Assist with organising seasonal promotions and special events within the shop
- Support other team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
- Fluency in English
- at least 2 years expierence in a simular role
- Strong communication skills with a friendly and professional manner
- Organised with good time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Experience in merchandising or retail environments is preferred but not essential; training will be provided
- Excellent organisational skills to manage stock and maintain shop presentation
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Good phone etiquette when dealing with customers over the phone
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills and contribute positively to the team
Pay: £13.00 per hour
