The Role
Salary: £35,000 basic salary + commission (OTE £45,000).
This is a pivotal commercial role at the heart of our events business. Reporting to the Senior Events Sales Manager, you will manage the client journey from first enquiry through to a confirmed, well-planned event, responding quickly, hosting engaging showrounds, building tailored proposals and converting opportunities into bookings.
You will be the voice of Barworks for corporate clients, agencies and private bookers alike, building lasting relationships and acting as the key link between prospective clients and our venue teams.
Success in this role comes from combining pace, precision and personality. You'll deliver exceptional customer service, maintain a healthy sales pipeline and create experiences that encourage clients to return to Barworks time and time again.
Key Responsibilities Enquiry Management
- Act as the first point of contact for all incoming event enquiries across the Barworks portfolio, delivering a professional, knowledgeable and welcoming first impression.
- Respond to all enquiries within agreed service levels, qualifying guest numbers, budgets, dates and event requirements from the very first interaction.
- Build rapport with clients, understand their objectives and confidently recommend the most suitable Barworks venue and event solution.
- Ensure every enquiry is accurately recorded, organised and progressed through the CRM system.
Coordination & Showrounds
- Coordinate planning details, pre-orders and client requirements before handover to operations.
- Ensure all event information is communicated clearly and on time.
- Conduct engaging, well-prepared venue showrounds tailored to each client's brief and event objectives.
- Showcase the unique character of each venue while confidently presenting food, drink and event packages.
- Build confidence throughout the client journey by delivering a personalised and memorable venue experience.
- Follow up promptly after every showround to maximise conversion opportunities.
Proposals & Contracts
- Prepare compelling proposals, accurate quotations and contracts that reflect the client's requirements.
- Support the preparation and issuing of contracts and booking documentation in a timely manner.
- Proactively follow up proposals, contracts and negotiations to maximise conversion opportunities.
- Ensure all commercial documentation is accurate, complete and issued within agreed timescales.
Conversion
- Manage your own sales pipeline and re-engage previous opportunities.
- Convert enquiries into confirmed bookings while protecting profitability and delivering an exceptional client experience.
- Build trust through proactive communication, timely follow-up and excellent attention to detail.
- Contribute to achieving team sales and revenue targets while delivering an exceptional client experience
- Identify opportunities to overcome objections and secure bookings.
Business Development
- Proactively nurture existing client relationships, follow up previous enquiries and identify opportunities for repeat business, referrals and new corporate partnerships.
- Build a strong personal network of corporate clients, agencies and event organisers.
- Keep up to date with competitor venues, pricing and market trends, sharing insight with the Senior Events Sales Manager.
- Maximise revenue through catering, drinks, AV and enhancements.
- Increase average booking value while acting in the client's best interests.
About YouEssential:
- Experience within hospitality, venue or events sales.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously
- Confident using AI tools to enhance and develop skills and output
- A proactive approach to problem solving and strong attention to detail
Desirable:
- Experience selling private events or venue hire.
- Knowledge of the London corporate events market.
- Experience working across multiple venues.
- Familiarity with event planning documentation and CRM platforms.
