Head Chef – Kochchi Glasgow
Location: Glasgow West End
Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per annum (depending on experience), plus monthly service charge (tronc) and performance-related bonus opportunities.
Kochchi is an award-winning Sri Lankan restaurant bringing bold flavours, exceptional hospitality and contemporary dining to Scotland. Our Glasgow restaurant has quickly established itself as one of the city's most exciting independent restaurants, and we're now looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen into its next chapter.

The Role
As Head Chef, you will oversee all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring exceptional food quality, strong financial performance and a positive team culture. Working closely with the directors, you will play a key role in maintaining high standards while helping shape the future direction of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, inspire and develop the kitchen team.
- Deliver consistently high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
- Manage kitchen operations, rotas and labour costs.
- Control stock, ordering, food costs and waste.
- Ensure full compliance with food safety, HACCP and health & safety regulations.
- Recruit, train and mentor kitchen staff.
- Contribute to menu development and seasonal specials.
- Work collaboratively with the front-of-house management team to deliver an outstanding guest experience.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen.
About You
You'll be a confident leader with a genuine passion for great food and developing people.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Head Chef or an experienced Senior Sous Chef ready to take the next step.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A solid understanding of kitchen financials, including GP, labour and stock management.
- The ability to remain calm and organised during busy services.
- High standards and attention to detail.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a positive attitude.
- Experience with Asian cuisine is advantageous but not essential.
