Weekend Cook – Briarcroft Care Home
Location: Teignmouth
Hours: Saturdays & Sundays, 7am–2pm, (Potential for Fridays)
Additional Hours can be offered
Cover: Cook cover for annual leave and sickness may also be required
Briarcroft is looking for a confident, creative Weekend Cook to bring delicious, nutritious meals to life for our 19 residents. As a warm, dementia‑friendly home, mealtimes are a huge part of our residents’ comfort and daily joy — and your cooking will genuinely make a difference.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve breakfast and lunch for residents, prepare tea for carers to serve in the evening all while following dietary needs
- Maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment
- Follow food hygiene standards and organisational policies
- Support with stock rotation
- Provide cook cover during staff annual leave and sickness
- Additional Hours Available: these can be made up helping to cover laundry and cleaning shifts, if required a regular shift pattern including these roles can be explored.
Requirements
- Experience cooking for groups preferred
- Understanding of food hygiene
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Positive, friendly attitude
- Right to work in the UK without sponsership
