Traffic Steward (Driver) – Events
Location: Event venues across the UK
Pay: £12.71 - £13.10 per hour
Contract: Casual event work with flexible shifts
We’re looking for reliable, safety-focused Traffic Management Drivers to join our growing operations team. This is a great opportunity to support traffic management requirements at live events, venues, public spaces and temporary work sites across the UK.
You could be supporting events and operations at venues and clubs such as Burnley Football Club, Wigan Athletic, Wigan Warriors, Manchester United, Everton FC, Coventry City FC and more. What you’ll be doing
- Driving company vehicles safely and responsibly between depots, venues, event sites and operational areas
- Supporting the safe delivery, set-up, maintenance and removal of temporary traffic management equipment
- Assisting with cones, signs, barriers, traffic control points, road closures, diversions and access routes where required
- Following site instructions, risk assessments, safe systems of work and relevant traffic management procedures
- Carrying out vehicle checks and reporting defects, incidents, hazards or concerns to supervisors
- Communicating professionally with supervisors, colleagues, clients, visitors and members of the public
- Working as part of a team to help keep road users, pedestrians, staff and visitors safe
What we’re looking for
- A full UK driving licence is essential
- Previous traffic management, highways, event traffic, car park marshal, logistics, driving or site operations experience is advantageous
- Traffic management qualifications such as TTMBC, NHSS 12D, 12A/B, Chapter 8 awareness, IPV or NRSWA are desirable but not essential unless specified for a particular deployment
- A professional, approachable and reliable attitude
- Good verbal and written English communication skills
- The ability to stay calm, alert and safety-focused in busy or changing environments
- A team-focused approach and willingness to follow instructions
- Full training and site-specific briefings will be provided for successful candidates
Required documents
- A valid UK driving licence
- Proof of right to work in the UK
- Any relevant traffic management certificates, training cards or qualifications, if held

Hours and working pattern
Shifts vary depending on the event or operational requirement, with early, late, evening, overnight and weekend work available.
Work is offered on a casual basis, giving you the flexibility to choose shifts around your existing commitments. Some roles may involve working outdoors, travelling between sites or supporting operations at short notice.
Rate of pay
Pay is event dependent, with an hourly rate of £12.71, which can rise to £13.10 with training and qualifications.
