Role: Warehouse Operations and Production Manager - Furniture

ØRN Furniture is a family run contract Furniture business, based in Banbury and Tuxford. It is part of ØRN (INT) LTD .
Role Summary
The Warehouse Operations and Production Manager will have direct responsibility for all day-to-day warehouse, logistics and production operations at ØRN Furniture in Tuxford. Including employee relations, engagement, health and safety and production planning. They will be expected to lead their team efficiently through great coaching, support and drive and deliver key KPIs. They will be required to work with stakeholders both internal and external at all levels.
Responsibilities and Requirements of role
The Warehouse Operations and Production Manager role is part of the ØRN Furniture leadership team, and the incumbent reports to the Furniture Operations Manager. They are required to attend the weekly and monthly LT meetings (either via Teams or in person as required), and the individual will be required to brief the LT on the warehouse operational metrics, actions, and progress.
The role also has a dotted line into the Head of Warehouse Operations at Tuxford.
The role is challenging, intensive and rewards, whilst no job description will ever completely list all aspects of the role, the following notes give guidance:
- Must be comfortable building collaborative relationships at all levels.
- Ensure all Service Levels Agreements (SLAs) are met.
- Day to day control and management of the furniture production operation and product assembly.
- Oversee logistics operations, including scheduling of transport to agreed targets.
- Book in Furniture installations with end users and arrange details with install teams.
- Take ownership of inventory management process and deliver accuracy to target.
- Day to day management and control of non-labour costs, such as packaging and consumables.
- Continuous improvement of warehouse management systems and be proactive in making operational efficiency suggestions and implementing change projects and solutions.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and actions required for safety of personnel within the warehouse operation.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept tidy and housekeeping principles adhered to.
- Support with recruitment and onboarding employees whether they are permanent, temporary or contract.
- Providing coaching / support and /or disciplinary processes as appropriate.
- Monitor and deliver all people costs within an agreed budget and seek opportunities for efficiency and productivity improvements.
- Deliver operational KPIs and manage employee performance.
- Present data to key stakeholders on a weekly / monthly basis.
Specific Skills and Experience
Essential
- A minimum of 3 years leading a production operation.
- Experience leading a Warehouse team.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Agile and dynamic, with an ability to embrace and deliver change at pace.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Experience dealing with tight deadlines.
- An ability to work on a number of projects at any one time.
- Proficient in using a WMS, Microsoft Office, Excel Level, and competent with IT / AI software in general.
- An understanding of Lean efficiency principles.
Desirable
- Commercial furniture manufacturing background.
- Lean black belt.
- Six Sigma qualification.

Hours of work
- 0730-1630 – Monday to Friday with a 30-minute unpaid break. Some flexibility may be required at weekends or evenings and would be taken back as time off in lieu agreed by the Head of Furniture Operations.
Pay: £33,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
