We are seeking a Phlebotomist who are reliable motivated and enthusiastic with excellent communication and team working skills to join our practice.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Principle duties are to collect specimens of blood from patients attending the practice
- To ensure samples and request forms match with the patient and are labelled correctly for delivery to the Pathology Directorate
- To report as soon as possible to your line manager any problems that may arise.
- Following standard operating procedures dispose of used equipment in a safe manner, reducing risks of needle stick injury to yourself and others.
- To observe all practice, national and European Health & Safety regulations relevant to the service, ensuring attendance and completion of annual training.
In addition all staff must sign the departmental H&S policy to acknowledge understanding and compliance.
Person specification: 6 months experience in the last 2 years is desirable but not essential.
- A knowledge of venepuncture
- Understanding of need for patient confidentiality
- Knowledge of Health & Safety issues
- Use of IT equipment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to prioritize work

Hours of working will be 20 per week,
