This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Family department, providing hands-on support to experienced Fee Earners across a varied caseload. You will gain valuable exposure to client meetings, court proceedings, legal research and case preparation while developing your practical Family Law experience.
The role would suit an organised and proactive Paralegal who enjoys working closely with clients and Fee Earners and is looking to build on their existing Family Law knowledge.

The Role:
You will provide legal and administrative support to Fee Earners across a varied Family Law caseload. You will be involved in everything from client communication and legal research through to preparing court documentation and assisting with hearings.
This is a varied role offering excellent practical experience for a Paralegal looking to develop their career within Family Law.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting Fee Earners during client meetings
- Drafting legal documentation, letters and emails
- Preparing legal and court documents
- Uploading applications and documentation to court
- Liaising with clients by telephone and in writing
- Attending court hearings where required
- Carrying out legal research across a range of Family Law matters
- Researching and assisting with expert evidence within cases
- Audio typing standard correspondence, court documents and telephone attendance notes
- Preparing Counsel's instructions and collating documents
- Assisting with the preparation of trial bundles
- Raising bills and assisting with payment enquiries
- Updating databases and directories
- Maintaining accurate and well-organised client files
- Opening new files and completing relevant documentation
- Closing and archiving completed files
- Liaising with clients and external solicitors to provide updates where appropriate
- Identifying urgent calls and ensuring messages are promptly passed to the relevant Fee Earner
- Preparing standard documentation under supervision and using initiative
- Providing general support to the wider Family team
- Undertaking other reasonable and ad hoc duties as required

- Previous experience as a Paralegal, ideally within Family Law
- Strong interest in developing a career within Family Law
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good legal research and drafting skills
- Confident communicating with clients and professional contacts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong audio typing skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
- Proactive approach with the ability to use initiative
- Professional, empathetic and client-focused manner
- Flexible attitude and willingness to support the wider team
