We are seeking a hardworking and dependable Kitchen Porter to join our kitchen team. As a vital member of our kitchen staff, the Kitchen Porter will ensure the cleanliness and smooth operation of the kitchen. Duties include washing dishes, maintaining hygiene standards, and assisting with general kitchen tasks. The ideal candidate should be efficient, able to work well under pressure, and demonstrate a strong commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Objectives of this role:
- Support kitchen operations by maintaining a clean and sanitary environment
- Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic food preparation as needed
- Follow health and safety regulations and procedures
- Work efficiently to ensure dishes, equipment, and kitchen spaces are always ready for use
- Promote a positive and cooperative work environment
Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils
- Keep kitchen floors, walls, and surfaces clean and safe at all times
- Manage waste disposal and recycling processes
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef
- Ensure cleaning supplies are fully stocked and available at all times
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure the smooth running of operations
Skills and qualifications:
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
Preferred qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
- Knowledge of basic food preparation
- Food hygiene qualification
