Job Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Class 1 Night Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating flatbed lorries during night shifts, delivering goods efficiently and on time. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a flatbed HGV Class 1 lorry during night shifts, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and compliance
- Load and secure goods onto the flatbed lorry, ensuring proper handling and safety during transit
- Deliver goods to designated locations efficiently, maintaining accurate delivery documentation
- Follow planned routes and schedules to meet delivery deadlines
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to management
- Comply with all legal requirements related to commercial driving and transportation regulations
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed lorries or similar vehicles
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for commercial vehicles
- Ability to work independently during night shifts with minimal supervision
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks and secure cargo effectively
