Job Title: Child Support Worker / Young Adult support worker- Residential
Location: Meldreth, Hertfordshire
Salary: £12.87 ph to £14.03 ph (linked to competency and qualifications) + a night supplement of £25 per night shift worked PLUS £1500 WELCOME BONUS*
Annual Salary: £31,503.50- £33,914.53 per year for a 40 hour week
Hours: 40 hours per week (part-time hours available, minimum 24hrs per week)
Training: Full training provided and once passed probation we will support and fund studying the Level 3 diploma in Health and Social Care
We are currently seeking experienced Support Workers to join an innovative provider of education and care for children, young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities based in Meldreth, Hertfordshire working on the Night Shift.
The role:
At night; your role will be to provide the highest level of care for our children and young adults; from assisting them in getting ready for bed (including washing/changing), encouraging a healthy sleeping pattern where possible and of course regularly checking all of those in your care at regular intervals through the night and dealing with any incidences that occur.
- Providing exceptional high levels of care for our children and young adults
- Assisting with getting them ready for bed which will include washing and changing
- Encourage a healthy sleeping pattern where possible
- Checking on the children and young adults at regular intervals throughout the night and dealing with any difficulties
- Ensuring that medical needs are met at all times
- Ensuring that the environment is safe, supportive, calm and happy
Please note that the role may require participation in physical intervention and personal care routines.
Experience /Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in Care is ESSENTIAL
- If you do not already hold a qualification, willingness to work towards achieving Level 3 Diploma HSC (funded by our client).
- A robust, positive and creative approach in meeting the needs of children and young adults.
- Good interpersonal, communication and team working skills.
- High level of resilience and patience
- The ability to follow personal care routines
- The ability to work within a rota pattern that typically requires working every other weekend.
