CNC Vertical Borer Operator
Location: Hinckley, Leicestershire
Job Type: Full Time / Permanent
Salary: £17.10 per hour + £581.54 per month shift allowance
Hours: 37 hours per week
Shifts: Rotating every 2 weeks
AMLR are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Vertical Borer Operator to join a leading precision engineering business in Hinckley.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist to join a well-established manufacturing environment, working on large components to customer specifications and high-quality standards.
The Role
- Operating CNC Vertical Boring Machines, including Webster Bennett, Doosan and Hyundai.
- Machining components from 600mm–1500mm diameter.
- Working with Fanuc and Siemens control systems.
- Setting tools and editing CNC programmes.
- Working from engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Carrying out own inspection and quality checks using inspection equipment.
- Completing basic TPM / machine maintenance.
- Raising PIRs where required.
- Maintaining 5S standards within the work area.
- Safe handling of components, jigs and fixtures.
About You
- Apprentice trained CNC machinist.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Confident using inspection equipment and checking your own work.
- Experience with Fanuc and/or Siemens controls.
- Able to work independently and use your own initiative.
- Strong focus on quality, safety and attention to detail.
Shift Pattern
Week 1: Monday–Thursday, 6:00am–3:45pm
Week 2: Monday–Thursday, 3:45pm–1:30am
Both shifts include a 30-minute lunch break.
