We are seeking an experienced Communal Electrician / EICR Tester to join our team on a long-term Southern Housing contract covering South London.
This role involves carrying out Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) and inspection and testing of communal electrical installations across a portfolio of social housing properties. Work is pre-planned, with consistent volumes and support from an experienced scheduling team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out EICRs on communal electrical installations within Southern Housing properties.
- Inspect and test communal lighting, power circuits, distribution boards, emergency lighting, and landlord electrical systems.
- Accurately complete test results and certification using handheld devices or company software.
- Identify electrical defects and report remedial works where required.
- Ensure all work complies with BS 7671, health and safety regulations, and client standards.
- Maintain a professional approach when working within occupied residential buildings and liaising with housing staff and residents.
- Manage your daily workload to ensure jobs are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
Essential Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
- City & Guilds 2391, 2394/2395, or equivalent Inspection & Testing qualification.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Previous experience carrying out communal EICRs, preferably within the social housing sector.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong fault-finding, reporting, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high productivity and quality.
