The Role
As a BCT Programme Officer - Safe Accommodation and Domestic Abuse Support, you will play a key role in delivering high quality, survivor centred support to victims and survivors of domestic abuse living in, or requiring access to, safe accommodation in West Berkshire. Working closely with the Homelessness prevention and Relief Officer- Domestic Abuse, the postholder will contribute to the Council’s statutory duties under the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 by ensuring that individuals and families are safe, informed, and supported to move towards stability, recovery, and independence.
This is a Fixed term role for 23 months from start date (Funding limited project)
You will be responsible for:

Delivering trauma-informed support to domestic abuse survivors, including risk assessments, safety planning, and ongoing reviews.
- Providing practical, emotional, and advocacy support across housing, benefits, health, and legal needs.
- Collaborating with housing services and partners to help survivors access, maintain, and move on from safe accommodation.
- Representing survivors in multi-agency settings, ensuring safeguarding for adults and children is identified and addressed.
- Supporting service delivery through training, partnership working, accurate case management, and deputising for senior staff when needed.

- Ability to assesses risk effectively and applies safeguarding procedures to protect adults and children.
- Communicates clearly and advocates for survivors, helping them understand their rights and options.
- Works collaboratively with partners to coordinate joined‑up support across services.
- Manages caseloads efficiently, maintaining accurate records and meeting compliance requirements.
- Shows resilience and adaptability, maintaining professional boundaries while responding to changing needs.
