Astley Care Home is a beautiful, purpose-built care home in Daventry, providing exceptional residential, nursing, dementia and respite care. Our 83-bed home has been thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, dignity and an outstanding quality of life for every resident.
We're looking for an enthusiastic, creative and compassionate Activities Coordinator to join our team. If you have a passion for enriching the lives of older people and enjoy creating memorable experiences, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
No two days are the same. From organising themed events and entertainment to one-to-one activities and community outings, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our residents continue to enjoy fulfilling, meaningful lives.
The Role
As an Activities Coordinator, you will plan and deliver an engaging programme of activities that supports residents' physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering a varied programme of daily activities and events.
- Organising entertainment, celebrations and seasonal events.
- Encouraging residents to participate while respecting their individual interests, abilities and choices.
- Providing meaningful one-to-one activities for residents who are unable to join group sessions.
- Building positive relationships with residents, families, volunteers and the local community.
- Supporting outings and special trips where appropriate.
- Maintaining activity records and evaluating engagement.
- Working closely with the care team to ensure activities are person-centred and tailored to individual care plans.
- Creating a fun, welcoming and inclusive atmosphere throughout the home.
About You
We're looking for someone with energy, creativity and a genuine passion for improving the lives of older people.
You will have:
- Previous experience in an Activities Coordinator role or a similar position within a care, health or community setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A warm, caring and enthusiastic personality.
- Creativity and confidence in planning engaging activities for people with varying abilities, including those living with dementia.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
- The ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
- Basic IT skills for recording activities and creating activity plans.
- A reliable and stable employment history.

Pay: From £13.00 per hour
