We are seeking a reliable and proactive General Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting daily operations across various departments, ensuring smooth workflow and maintaining high standards of safety and efficiency. Fair Mills Trading Limited are a family run business that produces high grade alloys in ingot form, de-oxidants as well as graded scrap for different industry sectors
Duties
- Sorting metal, baling, shearing, etc.,
- Dealing with incoming material from trade and public
- Assisting with the loading and unloading of goods, materials, and equipment
- Preparing work areas and ensuring cleanliness and organisation of tools and supplies
- Operating machinery and equipment following safety protocols (training provided)
- Collaborating with team members to meet daily operational targets
Experience
- Previous experience in a similar operative or manual role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Basic understanding of health and safety procedures in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Willingness to undertake training on machinery operation and safety protocols
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Counterbalance forklift licence would be desirable

The position will be paid weekly in arrears on a Thursday. 40hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am-5pm. Benefits include 20 days holiday per year, plus 8 Statutory Bank Holidays, Company Pension and on-site parking
