Credit Controller
Location: Birmingham, B37 7HE (office-based role)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 08:30-17:00, and Friday, 08:00-16:30 (there may be flexibility on this depending on the role/team) with 30 minutes unpaid daily break.
Salary: £28,000.00 per annum
Job Summary
We are a growing and ambitious global company looking for a Credit Controller to join our Finance team.
Are you a confident communicator with a keen attention to detail. We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused Credit Controller to support our Finance team by managing customer accounts, coordinating outstanding debts, and supporting effective debt recovery.
Principal Accountabilities
- Proactively managing your own ledger, making sure bad debt is kept to a minimum.
- Setting up new accounts
- Resolving queries in a timely manner, ensuring customers pay to agreed payment terms.
- Building strong working relationships across the business with sales, account management and operations to make sure any customer issues are escalated and resolved in a timely manner
- Daily cash allocation
- Making commercial decisions to help the business and mitigate any risk.
- Process invoices

Qualifications (preferred)
Technical Competencies
- Proven experience in a credit control / accounts receivable role
- Commercial acumen, with a strong focus on profitability
- Experience managing customer accounts and building relationships
- Confident dealing with difficult or sensitive conversations regarding payment
- Time management, organisation, prioritisation and coordination skills
- Advanced Excel skills
- Stakeholder management skills
