Associate Test Engineer

As an Associate Test Engineer, you’ll support the planning, execution, automation and documentation of testing across Salesforce, MuleSoft integrations and enterprise data flows. You’ll take ownership of clearly defined testing activities while building the capability to progress towards a Test Engineer role.

How you’ll make an impact:
You’ll… So that…
Prepare and execute test conditions, test cases, test data and expected results for defined Salesforce, MuleSoft and data changes.
Changes are tested consistently against agreed requirements and quality standards.
Review requirements, designs and acceptance criteria with support from experienced colleagues. Gaps, ambiguities and testability concerns are identified early.
Record defects with clear steps, evidence, actual results and expected outcomes, and support retesting through to closure.
Delivery teams can investigate efficiently and make informed release decisions.
Execute existing Copado Robotic Testing suites and create straightforward automated tests using approved patterns.
Repeatable testing becomes more efficient, reliable and scalable.
Maintain accurate execution status, traceability, test evidence and defect records. Quality decisions are supported by clear, auditable information.
Collaborate across Agile ceremonies, release validation and post-deployment checks while managing assigned work and escalating blockers.
Quality is embedded throughout delivery and risks are addressed promptly.

You’ll work closely with Test Engineers, Test Leads, software engineers, business analysts, product owners, data engineers, operations teams and business testers, seeing how your work contributes to meaningful outcomes.

Salesforce Copado Robotic Testing
MuleSoft and API-led integration Functional, API, integration and regression testing
Enterprise data flows Basic SQL, reconciliation and data-quality checks
Controlled test environments Test cases, traceability, evidence and defect management
CI/CD and release governance Automated execution, reusable keywords and clear assertions
Essential experience
- • Relevant academic, placement, internship, personal project or early professional experience in software testing, automation, APIs, data or technology delivery.
- Developing knowledge of test planning, test design, execution, defect management and reporting.
- Ability to apply structured testing techniques to defined requirements and maintain accurate evidence.
- Strong communication, organisation and willingness to learn, seek feedback and escalate risks appropriately.
- Awareness of secure data handling and the controls expected in a regulated environment.
Useful, but not essential
- • ISTQB Foundation Level, or a commitment to work towards it.
- Exposure to Salesforce, MuleSoft, APIs, basic SQL or data reconciliation.
- Copado Robotic Testing, Trailhead badges or equivalent automation learning.
- Awareness of financial services, consumer lending, cards, retail banking or another regulated environment.

You’ll build capability through structured learning, coaching, peer review and practical delivery experience. As your confidence and technical depth grow, you’ll develop towards the broader ownership, judgement and autonomy expected of a Test Engineer.
