If so, come and join us as an Executive Support Officer within the Office of the Chief Executive where you will be supporting the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of the Council, supporting services that make a difference to our staff and residents.
What makes this role special
You will work closely with the Chief Executive and Strategic Directors providing a unique opportunity to support the Council’s strategic leadership and decision-making across the organisation.
What you’ll be doing
- Be the first point of contact into the department
- Provide high quality executive support to senior leaders
- Manage complex diaries with confidence
- Produce accurate, professional minutes for strategic meetings
- Communicate effectively with leaders, executive members, and colleagues across the council
- Support meetings, include planning and co-ordination across the department
Whilst diary management and meeting support form the core of the role, you will also work with the wider Office of the Chief Executive’s Team. This will give you the opportunity to understand and participate in corporate council functions and governance processes.
Who are we looking for
Someone who is:
- A strong communicator, both verbally and written
- Highly organised and able to work under pressure
- Confident in building positive working relationships
- Adaptable, proactive and eager to learn
- Able to act on initiative
- Comfortable working with senior leaders and handling sensitive information
- Confident in using Microsoft365 packages
Working arrangements
We offer a hybrid working arrangement of 80% office-based and 20% home-based working, subject to service requirements. New starters will be required to complete a six-month probationary period working full-time in the office prior to starting hybrid working.
This is a full time, 37-hour role, Monday – Friday.
