Overview
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Dog Walker to join our pet care team. This role involves providing exceptional dog walking services to clients, ensuring the safety, happiness, and well-being of each animal. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, excellent customer service skills, and the physical ability to handle active dogs during walks. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors and make a positive impact on pets and their owners.
Duties
- Take dogs on scheduled walks in neighbourhoods, parks, or designated areas, ensuring their safety at all times
- Monitor dogs’ behaviour during walks and respond appropriately to their needs or any signs of distress
- Provide basic animal care, including feeding or administering medication if required (training provided)
- Maintain clean and organised equipment and ensure the walking area remains safe and hazard-free
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their pets’ behaviour or any concerns during walks
- Assist with additional pet care tasks as needed, such as feeding or light grooming
Qualifications
- Experience with veterinary care or animal handling is desirable but not essential; training can be provided for the right candidate
- Genuine love for animals and a caring attitude towards pets of all sizes and temperaments
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with pet owners
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary, such as handling dog harnesses or bags of pet supplies
- Physically fit with the stamina to walk multiple dogs over extended periods
- Reliable, punctual, and organised with good communication skills
- Valid driving licence is advantageous but not mandatory
