Overview
Castle Coaching Inn is looking for a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team.
This is an important role within the Inn, helping to ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently and that our high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene are maintained.
The Role
As Kitchen Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Washing and cleaning crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and kitchen equipment
- Keeping the kitchen, wash-up area and storage areas clean and organised
- Supporting the chefs with basic kitchen preparation when required
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean and hygienic throughout service
- Emptying bins and maintaining appropriate waste and recycling procedures
- Cleaning floors, surfaces and kitchen equipment
- Receiving and storing deliveries when required
- Following all food hygiene, health & safety and cleaning procedures
- Supporting the wider kitchen team during busy service periods
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties required to support the smooth running of the kitchen
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Comfortable working in a busy kitchen environment
- Able to work as part of a team
- Organised and takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Flexible with working hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
- Positive and willing to get stuck in
- Previous experience in a kitchen or hospitality environment would be an advantage, but full training can be provided for the right person
