Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our vibrant bar environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and a comprehensive understanding of food and beverage service. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting the smooth running of the bar. Previous experience in restaurant or hospitality settings, particularly with food production and management, is essential. The successful applicant will play a key role in creating an inviting atmosphere for guests while ensuring operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of bar staff to ensure high standards of service and customer satisfaction
- Oversee food and beverage preparation, including cooking, food presentation, and ensuring adherence to recipes and quality standards
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients in line with food safety regulations
- Ensure all health and safety protocols are followed, including food safety standards and cleanliness procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods
- Serve drinks efficiently while maintaining excellent customer relations
- Train new team members on service procedures, safety standards, and company policies
- Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and support team development
- Handle customer complaints professionally to resolve issues promptly
- Maintain a welcoming environment that reflects the organisation’s hospitality values
Experience
- Proven management or supervisory experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong background in food production, cooking, serving, and food preparation
- Experience working in a kitchen or culinary environment is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
- Previous experience in a bar or barista role is advantageous but not essential
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with excellent organisational skills
- Familiarity with supervising teams in fast-paced environments such as restaurants or bars
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service and creating memorable guest experiences
