The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our Blackpool team on a full time, permanent basis.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am – 6:30pm (Late Shift)
As Warehouse Supervisor, you will lead a team of warehouse operatives and take responsibility for ensuring customer orders are accurately picked, loaded and dispatched on time. You will oversee vehicle loading operations, monitor team performance, and maintain high standards of safety, efficiency and accuracy throughout the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of warehouse operatives
- Ensure orders are dispatched on time, correctly and in good condition – this includes orders assigned to third party couriers, and our own fleet vehicles, each with different deadlines.
- Ensure our own fleet of vehicles are loaded safely, and orders are secured correctly, with the appropriate equipment to assist the delivery drivers.
- Ensure correct paperwork is provided to our drivers and for our own internal checks/ controls.
- Planning loading schedules to maximise space and meet deadlines.
- Train and develop new and existing team members on working methods and operational procedures to enhance productivity.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across all assigned areas.
- Assist in the monitoring of key performance indicators
- Completion of daily assigned check sheets via reporting dashboard
- Any adhoc requests
- Promote and maintain a clean-as-you-go culture
- Report near misses, accidents or damages promptly to the Warehouse Manager
- Ensure all routine compliance checks are undertaken
- Complete the daily Supervisor report and checks form
- Monitor staff breaks
- Lead by example in maintaining a safe working environment
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous warehouse supervisory or team leader experience.
- Experience using warehouse management systems and associated operational procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach and develop team members.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Good problem solving abilities and a proactive approach to improving efficiency.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Good IT skills and confidence using warehouse software and reporting systems.
- A thorough understanding of health and safety requirements within a warehouse environment.
- The ability to perform manual handling duties and safely operate warehouse equipment where required.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and operational demands.
- A reliable and accountable approach to work.
