Are you passionate about food and love working with children? We are seeking to appoint 2 enthusiastic and dedicated professionals to join our friendly team as a Breakfast Club Leader and School Cook. This post can be combined into 1 role for the right applicant.

What you’ll be doing:
As our Breakfast Club Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in making sure our children receive a healthy and fun start to every day.
- Serving breakfast to children on their arrival at school from 7.30am until 8.45am
- Supervising children as they eat.
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures are followed at all times
- Making sure the children have age appropriate activities to occupy them before the start of school
- Clearing the hall and get it ready for the school day.
What you’ll be doing:
As our school cook, you’ll play a key role in making sure our children receive healthy, nutritious, and delicious meals every day.
- Preparing and cooking a variety of meals for our pupils
- Supervising children as they eat.
- Working closely with our wider school staff
- Ensuring food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures are followed at all times
- Planning innovative menus in line with nutritional standards (support and guidance provided)
- Keeping the kitchen clean and tidy
- Responsible for ordering and kitchen paperwork
What we’re looking for:
- A genuine love of cooking and a desire to work in a school setting
- You need to be reliable, show initiative and be prepared to join in with the life of the school. We host lots of community events where we serve hot snacks- overtime will be paid.
- Experience in catering (school or similar environment preferred)
- A team player who is friendly, reliable and flexible
- A Level 2 Food Hygiene certificate (or willingness to obtain one)
- We would expect the successful school cook to have experience of running a small kitchen, or their own section of a bigger kitchen. You will need to have a good understanding of food safety and allergens.
- This would be an ideal role if you have experience of managing a kitchen and would enjoy working alone in the kitchen but within the wider small school team, cooking for a set number daily and working weekdays only.
- This role will require an enhanced DBS certificate
