Responsibilities
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) to schedule, track, and update shipment statuses accurately.
- Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, ensuring all inbound and outbound freight is processed efficiently.
- Maintain detailed records of shipments, inventory movements, and related documentation using systems such as AS400 and SyteLine.
- Communicate clearly with carriers, suppliers, and internal teams via phone, email, or messaging platforms to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
- Perform data entry tasks with precision, including updating shipment logs, delivery schedules, and inventory data.
- Assist with analysis of shipping data to identify trends or issues that could impact supply chain performance.
- Support the shipping & receiving department by verifying documentation, preparing shipping labels, and conducting routine audits of freight movements.
Experience
- Proven experience working with transportation management systems (TMS) or similar logistics software.
- Strong understanding of supply chain principles and logistics operations within a 3PL (third-party logistics) environment.
- Familiarity with AS400 or SyteLine enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems is highly desirable.
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret shipping data and identify operational improvements.
- Effective communication skills with professional phone etiquette for interacting with carriers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and maintaining detailed records in fast-paced settings.
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures along with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy logistics environment.

Dealing with customer orders ensuring quantity accuracy, delivery timelines communication to depot staff
Maintain a harmonised people and customer focused team-working environment always seeking opportunity to improve the customer's experience
Dealing with customer & supplier enquiries and complaints, from Investigation through to closure and where this is not possible escalating the issue to the necessary Manager.
Ensuring that customer requirements are administered in a timely controlled and recorded manner
Support and develop the process of Continuous Improvement, challenging working conditions, systems and behaviours to increase performance and employee satisfaction.
Enter accurate data on to all internal systems and reports
Maintain data security and integrity in line with Business needs.
Collation of accurate data to create customer invoices
Maintain a safe working environment that complies with all aspects of the company’s H&S Policy
Experience:
- Proficiency in English and have clear communication skills.
- Strong computerise skills with the ability to troubleshoot network problems efficiently
- Excellent phone etiquette when communicating with colleagues and clients
- Office experience with exceptional organisational skills
Technical skills:
Good communication skills are essential with the ability to express empathy with customers
Excellent written and verbal skills are essential.
Experience resolving disputes in a fair and calm manner and be able to identify issues, which could potentially become problematic and avoid situations arising.
Report writing on Customer Service activity and proposed recommendations on how improvements could be made for the benefit of the company and its customers.
Familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
