The opportunity
We are seeking a proactive and organised Materials Planner to help ensure the timely availability of externally sourced materials, components and finished products. This is a key role within our supply chain team, supporting continuity of supply, optimised inventory levels, production plans and customer commitments.
Working closely with suppliers, Procurement, Manufacturing, Operations and other cross-functional colleagues, you will play an important part in managing demand and supply risks, resolving material shortages and improving inventory performance. The role offers the opportunity to make a visible impact in a business where collaboration, ownership and continuous improvement are valued.
Reporting to
Global Supply Chain Director
· What you will be doing
Purchase order management
· Create, manage and maintain purchase orders in line with business requirements.
· Monitor acknowledgements, commitments and delivery schedules.
Supplier order book management
· Review supplier order books, analyse commitments and negotiate delivery changes.
· Escalate supply risks and recovery plans where required.
Material planning
· Convert demand, forecasts and MRP outputs into purchasing plans.
· Monitor inventory, manage replenishment and support excess stock reduction.
ERP / Planning Parameter Management
· Maintain ERP planning parameters and review data to improve system effectiveness.
Supplier Relationship Management
· Act as the operational contact for suppliers and support performance improvement with Procurement.
Supply Risk Management
· Identify supply chain risks, coordinate recovery plans and maintain action trackers where required.
What we are looking for
· Experience in materials planning, supply chain, procurement, production planning or a similar operational planning role.
· Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
· Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
· A proactive approach to problem solving, continuous improvement and supply risk management.
· Experience using ERP or MRP systems would be advantageous.
