Downside Tyres Ltd is looking for a dependable and hardworking Vehicle Technician to join our team. We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work, can work well both independently and as part of a team, and is committed to providing a high standard of service to our customers.
The successful candidate will carry out a range of vehicle servicing, maintenance and repair work. Experience with tyre fitting and wheel alignment would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine vehicle servicing and maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on a range of light vehicles.
- Carry out brake, suspension, steering and exhaust repairs.
- Perform oil and filter changes and general vehicle maintenance.
- Carry out vehicle inspections and identify any required or recommended repairs.
- Use diagnostic equipment where required to identify vehicle faults.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues regarding vehicle faults and required repairs.
- Take care of customers’ vehicles while they are in the workshop.
- Follow company procedures and health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualification.
- Good practical knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair.
- A dependable and reliable approach to work.
- Good attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop.
Desired Skills
- Experience in tyre fitting, balancing and puncture repairs.
- Experience carrying out wheel alignment.
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment.
- Previous experience working in a busy garage or workshop environment.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 8:30am–5:30pm
