Location: Bradford ( BD3 and BD7 - 2 roles available)

About the Role
We are looking to recruit two enthusiastic, reliable and experienced Afterschool Club Managers to lead and manage our afterschool club provision.
The successful candidates will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the club, ensuring children are provided with a safe, welcoming, enjoyable and well-organised environment. You will lead the staff team, organise activities, maintain safeguarding standards and build positive relationships with children, parents/carers and colleagues.
This is a hands-on management role suited to someone who enjoys working directly with children while also taking responsibility for the smooth operation of the setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day running of the afterschool club.
- Lead, supervise and support afterschool club staff.
- Ensure appropriate staff deployment and ratios are maintained.
- Plan and deliver a varied programme of fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities.
- Create a safe, positive and inclusive environment for all children.
- Ensure children are properly registered on arrival and safely signed out to authorised adults.
- Maintain accurate attendance, collection, accident and incident records.
- Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times.
- Identify and report any safeguarding concerns in accordance with organisational procedures.
- Complete daily health and safety checks and ensure the premises and equipment are safe.
- Manage behaviour positively and consistently.
- Support children with additional needs and ensure activities are inclusive.
- Communicate professionally with parents and carers regarding their child's time at the club.
- Deal appropriately with parent queries or concerns.
- Organise staff duties and ensure responsibilities are completed.
- Ensure snacks and refreshments are provided safely and hygienically where applicable.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
- Ensure policies and procedures are consistently followed by the team.
- Report any operational, staffing or safeguarding concerns to senior management.
- Support staff development and maintain a positive and professional team environment.
Person SpecificationEssential
The successful applicant should:
- Have previous experience working with children.
- Have experience supervising or leading a team.
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Be confident managing groups of children.
- Have strong organisational and leadership skills.
- Be able to communicate effectively with children, parents and staff.
- Be dependable, punctual and professional.
- Be able to work independently and take responsibility for the club.
- Have a positive, caring and approachable manner.
- Be able to remain calm and make appropriate decisions when dealing with incidents or challenging situations.
Desirable
- Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Early Years, Playwork or a related subject.
- Previous experience as an Afterschool Club Manager, Deputy Manager or Senior Playworker.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Safeguarding training.
- Food Hygiene qualification.
- Experience working with children with SEND.
Working Hours
3:00pm – 7:00pm
The role will primarily operate during the afterschool period. Applicants must be able to reliably work the required hours.

Two Afterschool Club Manager positions are currently available.
