Production Assistant – Cheesemaking Team
We are looking for a Production Assistant to support our cheesemaking, stores, and dispatch teams. If you are reliable, hardworking, and enjoy practical work, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Location: Quicke's Home Farm, Newton St Cyres, Exeter, EX5 5AY
What will you do?
- Maintain excellent food hygiene and safety standards.
- Assist with traditional cheesemaking.
- Work across production, stores, and dispatch departments.
- Cut, weight, and pack cheese to customer specifications.
- Accurately prepare and record customer orders.
- Operate packing and cutting equipment (full training provided)
- Communicate clearly and work as part of a supportive team.
- Take part in continuous improvement and adapt to new processes.
- Support occasional forklift work (training provided)
What are we looking for?
- A working experience of a dairy or food manufacturing environment would be an advantage, but full training is given.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy items (cheeses weigh 27–40 kg)
- Reliable, responsible, and eager to learn.
- Attentive to detail
- Able to work within a team and independently when needed.

Hours: 5 days (Monday – Friday). Prepared to work at weekends and bank holidays if needed.
Salary: Monthly paid.
Holiday: 23 days + public holidays
Pay: £14.68-£15.26 per hour
