The Victoria & Commercial is looking for a passionate and experienced Sous Chef to join our busy kitchen team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with fresh ingredients, takes pride in producing high-quality food, and is ready to play a key role in the day-to-day running of a fast-paced kitchen.
Working closely with the Head Chef, you'll help lead the kitchen team, maintain exceptional food standards, and contribute to developing exciting seasonal menus.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the Head Chef with the day-to-day management of the kitchen.
- Leading the team in the Head Chef's absence.
- Preparing and delivering high-quality dishes to consistently high standards.
- Assisting with menu development and seasonal specials.
- Training, motivating, and supporting junior kitchen staff.
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP standards.
- Managing stock, ordering, and helping to minimise waste.
- Ensuring a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience as a Sous Chef or an experienced Chef de Partie ready to step up.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- A passion for fresh, quality food and excellent presentation.
- The ability to remain calm and organised during busy service periods.
- Good knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- A positive attitude and a genuine team-first approach.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
