- Senior Carer – Days (33 hours per week)
- Senior Carer – Nights (33 hours per week)
Hourly Rate: £12.50 per hour
Contract: 33 hours per week
About the Role
As a Senior Carer, you will play a key role in ensuring our residents receive the highest standards of care while leading by example and supporting the wider care team. You will be responsible for promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing, ensuring care is delivered safely, compassionately and in accordance with CQC standards and company policies.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about elderly care, confident in administering medication and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents every day.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Carer, you will:
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care that respects each resident's dignity, independence, privacy and individual preferences.
- Safely administer medication in accordance with company policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Lead, support and mentor Care Assistants during each shift, promoting best practice and maintaining high standards of care.
- Assist residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition, hydration and all aspects of daily living where required.
- Observe, monitor and report changes in residents' physical, emotional and mental wellbeing.
- Maintain accurate care plans, medication records and daily documentation.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, relatives and colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
- Promote a safe, welcoming and comfortable environment for residents, visitors and staff.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.
- Support new team members and contribute to a positive, respectful working culture.
- Adhere to all company policies, infection prevention protocols and CQC standards.
- Participate in training and continuous professional development to maintain and enhance your knowledge and skills.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- Previous experience working as a Senior Carer within a residential or nursing care home.
- Medication Administration training and experience.
- A good understanding of elderly care, dementia care and person-centred care principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to lead, motivate and support a team.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A caring, compassionate and professional approach.
- A reliable, flexible and positive attitude.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and work with integrity.
Desirable
- Level 2 or Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Dementia Care training.
- Safeguarding Adults training.
- Moving & Handling certification.
- First Aid qualification.
