An exciting opportunity to join our multi-award winning team.
Saltmarine Cars are looking for a practical and motivated Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with good mechanical knowledge who enjoys working across a range of vehicles. You’ll be responsible for carrying out routine servicing and basic mechanical repairs, as well as preparing new and used vehicles to a high standard for sale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete routine servicing and general maintenance work
- Carry out basic mechanical repairs
- Prepare new and used vehicles for sale
- Fit and replace tyres
- Complete wheel alignments
- Identify and report any additional repair or maintenance requirements
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
About You:
We’re looking for someone who is reliable, enthusiastic and keen to develop their skills. Applications are welcomed from experienced mechanics and technicians, and 3rd-year apprentices will also be considered for the right candidate.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- A relevant Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent practical workshop experience
- Good working knowledge of routine vehicle servicing and basic mechanical repairs
- Full UK driving licence
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and attention to detail
Applications will also be considered from candidates currently completing the third year of a recognised automotive apprenticeship.
Desirable:
- Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair
- Previous experience fitting tyres and carrying out wheel alignments
- Experience preparing new or used vehicles for sale
- Relevant hybrid or electric-vehicle awareness training

Salary
£22,500 to £30,000 depending on experience + bonus
