About YEMEN HEAVEN
YEMEN HEAVEN is an award-winning independent restaurant in the heart of York, known for warm hospitality, refined service and authentic Yemenite cuisine.
We are looking for reliable and experienced Front of House team members who take pride in their work and want to become a long-term part of a professional team.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Welcoming and looking after guests confidently and professionally
- Managing a section during busy services
- Taking accurate food and drink orders
- Serving food and drinks efficiently
- Learning the menu and confidently guiding guests through it
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Supporting the wider team and responding proactively during service
- Learning our wine, coffee and tea programme
What We Are Looking For
Previous table-service restaurant experience is strongly preferred. Full training will be provided in YEMEN HEAVEN’s menu, drinks programme, service standards and operating procedures.
The right candidate will demonstrate:
- Excellent reliability and punctuality
- A strong work ethic and sense of urgency
- Confidence working in a busy restaurant environment
- Initiative and the ability to identify what needs doing without always being prompted
- Good communication and attention to detail
- A calm and professional approach under pressure
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Availability for evenings and weekends
- A genuine interest in developing within the role
This position is best suited to someone seeking regular, consistent work who can commit reliably to their agreed shifts.
Training and Progression
We provide structured training and regular feedback to help team members develop their service, menu and drinks knowledge.
We actively encourage progression, with opportunities for capable team members to take on senior Front of House and supervisory responsibilities.
