Job Description: Café Barista / Server
Job Purpose
Greet customers and take orders / offering menus / processes food and drink orders, prepares drink / cake orders, carries food / drinks from kitchen / servery to tables /prepare bills and process payments. Remove dirty plates etc to kitchen, assist in the general running of the café and tidying front of house areas between sessions. Great for gap year student, someone looking for a great job between studies full time or part -time barista role position.
Job Duties
- Welcomes customers when they arrive at the cafe, explaining the “house rules” and answering any questions
- Introduces customers to the menu and any specials
- Answers questions about menu items, allergies, ingredients and pricing
- Takes customers' orders for food and drinks & passing along to kitchen for preparation
- Prepares drinks and / or cake orders and serves them to customers
- Collects food orders from the kitchen, verifies that they are correct, and serves them to customers
- Ensures that customers are satisfied with their meals and processes orders for additional items if necessary
- Remove used dishes and glasses from tables to the kitchen sink / dishwasher
- Prepares bills and deliver to customers in good time for the session end
- Processes cash and card payments and returns change to customers as necessary
- Wipe down tables, and play area between sessions and refills table caddies
- Maintains familiarity with menu items, specials, and restaurant information
- Working as part of a team, assisting the management with any reasonable requests in a polite and timely manner.
- Meets with management and team members regularly in order to learn about menu changes and specials as well as discuss reservations and business development
Skills and Qualifications
Attention to detail, Ability to multitask, Written & verbal communication essential, Excellent Customer Service and Interpersonal skills, Ability to communicate across various levels in an appropriate manner, Proven team player, Ability to work under pressure & maintain energy levels, Positive can do attitude, Familiarity with Food Hygiene standards (online training and qualifications will be provided) Barista experience is plus! Social media content creation,taking phones is a plus too!

Working pattern
Various, Full time, Part Time. Afternoon, and mid morning Perfect for GAP year or Part time college/Uni student.
Cover required
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9-5.30 and Tues / Thurs 10-3pm or 9am-3pm
