Steel Door Company is one of the UK's leading manufacturers and installers of premium steel doors, with ambitious plans to double in size over the next few years.
We're looking for a hands-on Management Accountant to take ownership of our finance function and help shape how finance supports the wider business as we continue to grow.
Working directly with the Directors, you'll play a key role in producing accurate financial information, improving processes, supporting commercial decision-making and helping build a finance function fit for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Own the month-end process, including journals, accruals and reconciliations
- Manage sales ledger, purchase ledger and bank reconciliations
- Oversee bookkeeping and maintain accurate financial records in Xero
- Prepare supplier payment runs and manage credit control
- Produce cash flow forecasts and support cash management
- Manage deferred income and revenue recognition
- Support payroll preparation, pensions and commission calculations
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and year-end accounts
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes through technology and automation
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership and thrives in a growing business.
You'll ideally have:
- AAT qualified (essential)
- Experience in a Management Accountant or similar finance role
- Strong working knowledge of Xero
- Experience producing monthly management accounts
- Knowledge of deferred income and revenue recognition
- Excellent bookkeeping and transactional finance experience
- Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail
- Confidence working independently and building relationships across the business
- A proactive mindset with an interest in improving systems and processes

Pay: £35,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
