We partner with over 70 universities and colleges, delivering DSA-funded autism mentoring and mental health support that helps students succeed, stay in education, and thrive both personally and academically.
We are recruiting Specialist ASC Mentors in London to work with autistic students studying at undergraduate and postgraduate level. You’ll meet students one-to-one, in person, to provide practical strategies, emotional support, and tailored guidance that reduces barriers to learning and promotes independence.
This is a flexible term-time role, ideal for professionals who want rewarding work that fits around the academic calendar. Pay is £25.00 per hour with holiday pay, pension, sick pay and clinical supervision included.

- An honours degree in any subject
- Eligibility under SFE’s Mandatory Criteria for Band 4 Specialist Mentor – Autism Spectrum Conditions (SM-ASC)
- At least 3 years’ experience working with autistic young people or adults
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting ASC and ADHD
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to disability equity and inclusive education
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Experience supporting diverse and multicultural communities
- Provide mentoring to autistic students at university
- Help students manage the impact of autism on learning and student life
- Support resilience, independence, and wellbeing
- Assist with time management, organisation, and study strategies
- Encourage personal responsibility and life skills development
- Monitor wellbeing and assess risk where necessary
- Liaise with universities, GPs, and other professionals as needed
- Maintain records and confidentiality in line with GDPR

Contract: Zero-hours, flexible
Pay: £25.00 per hour
Hours: Minimum 25 per week during term time
