West Berkshire Council is seeking an Assistant Team Manager to support the Team Manager in leading the Promoting Independence Service, which encompasses Reablement and Sensory Needs. The Role
As the Assistant Team Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Team Manager in the day-to-day operation of the service. Your key responsibilities will include:

Assisting in the management and leadership of a team of dedicated professionals
- Ensuring the effective delivery of Reablement and Sensory Needs assessments and interventions
- Overseeing the allocation of cases and providing guidance and support to frontline staff
- Monitoring and maintaining high standards of care, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for service users
- Contributing to the continuous improvement and development of the service
In the absence of the Team Manager, you will be responsible for stepping up and ensuring the smooth running of the service, making your leadership skills essential for this role.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Experience working within a social care setting, ideally with a focus on Reablement and/or sensory needs
- A proven track record of successfully managing and leading a team
- Strong assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to support complex cases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with service users, colleagues, and external partners
- Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and best practices within adult social care
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and contribute to service improvement initiatives
Additionally, the ideal candidate will be motivated, resilient, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
