The Opportunity
An established and growing business is seeking an experienced Electrician to join its team based near Newmarket. This is a predominantly site based role, focused on the assembly, testing, maintenance.
This position would suit a qualified electrician who enjoys hands on installation, testing and fault finding work within a workshop and operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Setup
- Assemble and install temporary power distribution boards and panels
- Prepare and configure temporary power infrastructure for a variety of applications.
- Install cable management and protection systems, including cable ramps and associated safety equipment.
Testing & Inspection
- Carry out electrical testing and inspection prior to equipment deployment.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on distribution boards, cables and power systems.
- Ensure all work complies with current BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and site safety standards.
- Complete inspection, testing and certification documentation accurately.
Maintenance & Repairs
- Repair and refurbish damaged cables, connectors and distribution equipment.
- Service hire equipment before and after deployment.
- Inspect, test and prepare returned equipment for future hire.
- Maintain high standards of equipment reliability and presentation.
Health & Safety
- Follow safe systems of work and company procedures at all times.
- Ensure equipment meets required safety and compliance standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Support continuous improvements in quality and operational efficiency.
Requirements
Essential
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671).
- Experience carrying out electrical testing, inspection and fault-finding.
Desirable
- 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification.
- Previous experience working with distribution boards, power distribution equipment or hire equipment.
