Job description:
If U Care Share Foundation (IUCSF) are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Part Time Support Coordinator who will be part of a team offering support to individuals and families bereaved by suicide or at risk of suicide
Location - Based in Chester le Street but may require travel across the North East region and throughout the UK
Hours - TBC at interview
Job Expectations:
- Taking calls into the office telephone line and responding to general enquiries from the public and supported persons
- Taking Suicide bereavement / Suicide prevention new referrals via telephone and email
- Contact new referrals (individuals bereaved or at risk of suicide) to offer and arrange support with the service via telephone and email
- Offer practical and emotional support to people struggling or at risk of suicide over the telephone and email
- Escalate Cause for Concern and or Safeguarding protocol if concerned for the safety or the wellbeing of supported persons
- Engage with local support services, including mental health teams, crisis teams, GP surgeries, adult or children social care teams etc. and making referrals where required / appropriate
- All administration and coordination of Support Officer diaries
- All administration and coordination of follow up tasks in relation to supported persons
- Administration and coordination of therapies (Trauma Therapy, Counselling and alternative therapies etc.) and therapists diaries
- Monitor and update Supported person files
- Greet supported persons / visitors to the office
- Attend meetings and training as advised
Essential Criteria:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Highly organised, with admirable attention to detail
· I.T. literate, with a firm understanding of MS Office
· Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent.
· Knowledge of the prevalence of suicide in society.
· Up-to-date DBS check.
· Right to work in the UK
Desirable Criteria
· Completion of mental health training.
· Experience and knowledge of working within mental health.
· Experience of the effects of suicide.
Job Types: Fixed term contract, Temp to perm
