Potters is a Berkshire based engineering company providing fine-limit sheet metal fabricated parts to a variety of industry sectors including electronics, medical, telecommunications, retail and vending. Our strong reputation with our existing client base has been built around offering design support, quality products and high levels of customer service.
We now have a vacancy for a Quality Inspector who is responsible for ensuring products meet quality standards by conducting tests, identifying defects, and verifying compliance with specifications.
This role is ideal for someone with at least 2 years' experience in a sheet metal manufacturing environment who takes pride in producing high-quality work and ensuring customer specifications are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out first-off, in-process and final inspections of manufactured components.
- Inspect sheet metal parts against engineering drawings and customer specifications.
- Use a range of measuring equipment including digital verniers, height gauges, angle protractors and go/no go gauges.
- Complete inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
- Identify and report non-conforming products and assist with corrective actions.
- Work closely with Production and Engineering teams to maintain quality standards.
- Ensure all work complies with company quality procedures and ISO 9001 requirements.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Quality Inspector within a sheet metal manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret 1st & 3rd angle engineering drawings.
- Experience using standard inspection and measuring equipment.
- Good understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
- Good communication and computer skills.
Desirable
- Experience with First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
- Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system.
