Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Bank Support Worker (Children’s Residential) to join our team during waking night shifts. This role involves providing high-quality care and support to children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development. The position offers flexible hours on an as-needed basis, ideal for individuals passionate about childcare and supporting vulnerable young people. The successful candidate will work within a nurturing environment, adhering to care plans and safeguarding protocols to promote positive outcomes for children.
Responsibilities
- Supervise children during overnight hours, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the night.
- Monitor children’s behaviour and well-being, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies.
- Follow individualised care plans to meet each child's specific needs and routines.
- Support children with personal care tasks as required, maintaining dignity and respect.
- Maintain accurate records of overnight activities, incidents, and observations in line with organisational policies.
- Foster a supportive and calming environment to promote restful sleep for children.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external professionals regarding children's progress or issues.
- Assist with light domestic duties within the residential setting to ensure a clean and safe environment.
Skills
- Experience working with children in a childcare or residential setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with children, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and organisational procedures accurately.
- Competence in using IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes.
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for transporting children or attending appointments.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience are essential qualities for supporting vulnerable young people overnight.
- DBS on update service for children

- Organised with good time management skills to ensure smooth night-time routines and safety protocols are maintained consistently. Pay: £14.56 per hour
