Job Role
The Logistics Manager is responsible for the effective day-to-day management of all logistics operations at Dynamic, ensuring that inbound, storage, stock movement, order fulfilment, distribution and outbound activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required customer service standards.
The role is responsible for leading the logistics team, maintaining operational control, driving productivity and ensuring that stock and customer orders move through the business efficiently and accurately whilst most importantly embracing continual growth.
The Logistics Manager will work closely with Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Production and senior management to ensure the logistics operation supports the wider objectives and continued growth of Dynamic Office Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day logistics operation.
- Ensure all inbound deliveries, containers and stock are received, checked, booked in and processed efficiently.
- Ensure stock is put away accurately and promptly into the correct locations.
- Maintain effective stock organisation, consolidation and space utilisation.
- Manage the movement of stock between warehouse areas, production, installation and dispatch.
- Ensure customer orders are picked, checked, packed and prepared for dispatch accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, organised and professional environment.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement improvements to maintain a fluid operation.
- Plan labour and resources according to daily and forecasted workload.
- Ensure the warehouse has sufficient capacity and labour to support current and future business requirements.
- Lead, manage and develop the logistics team.
- Set clear expectations, responsibilities and performance standards.
- Allocate daily duties and ensure resources are positioned where they are most effective.
- Monitor individual and team performance against agreed KPIs.
- Address poor performance, attendance, conduct and operational issues promptly.
- Identify training requirements and ensure employees are appropriately trained.
- Develop a culture of accountability, ownership, teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Conduct regular team briefings and communicate operational priorities clearly.
- Ensure orders are prepared correctly and within agreed service levels.
- Coordinate Logistics activity with Warehouse team and customer delivery requirements.
- Liaise with transport providers and internal teams to resolve failed collections, delivery issues and operational exceptions.
- Ensure urgent and priority orders are identified and managed appropriately.
- Monitor outbound performance and identify recurring issues.
KPI & Performance Management
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for monitoring and improving key operational KPIs, including:
- Inbound processing performance.
- Container unloading performance.
- Put-away performance.
- Picking accuracy.
- Order fulfilment performance.
- Dispatch accuracy.
- Stock accuracy.
- Productivity and labour efficiency.
- Failed collections and operational exceptions.
- Damage and discrepancy levels.
- Customer service performance.
- Overtime and labour costs.
The Logistics Manager will provide regular performance information to senior management and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure logistics activities are carried out safely and in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Ensure employees follow relevant health and safety requirements.
- Ensure appropriate PPE is worn and equipment is used correctly.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety.
- Report and investigate accidents, incidents, near misses and unsafe working practices.
- Support compliance with company policies, risk assessments, COSHH requirements and other applicable legislation.
- Take immediate action where unsafe working practices are identified.
- Continually review processes to improve efficiency, productivity and service.
- Identify unnecessary handling, duplicated processes and wasted labour.
- Introduce practical improvements to warehouse layout, stock flow and working practices.
- Support the introduction and development of new systems and processes.
- Work with senior management to develop the logistics operation in line with business growth.
- Challenge existing processes where better, safer or more efficient methods are available
- Manage logistics resources responsibly and with consideration for cost.
- Monitor overtime and agency labour requirements.
- Ensure labour is planned according to workload and operational demand.
- Reduce unnecessary handling, transport movements and rework.
- Support senior management in identifying opportunities to improve operational margins.
- Ensure external logistics and transport providers are delivering against agreed requirements.

The role requires strong communication to ensure that changes in customer demand, inbound volumes, stock availability, delivery requirements and operational issues are communicated quickly and effectively.
Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution management position.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and stock control.
- Experience managing and motivating teams.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Good understanding of health and safety within a warehouse environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work with KPIs and operational performance data.
- Good IT and administration skills.
Desirable:
- Experience within office furniture, furniture distribution, manufacturing or a similar environment.
- Experience managing 3PL or multi-customer warehouse operations.
- Experience with WMS/ERP systems.
- Experience implementing process improvements.
- Experience managing transport providers and delivery operations.

Key Objectives
The Logistics Manager's primary objective is to ensure that Dynamic Office Solutions has a safe, efficient, productive and scalable logistics operation capable of consistently meeting customer demand while maintaining high standards of stock accuracy, service, productivity and cost control and the ability to embrace growth.
The role is expected to take ownership of the logistics operation rather than simply manage the daily workload, identifying issues before they become problems and continually improving the way the department operates.
Pay: £30,000.00-£38,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
