Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced HGV Driver/Handy Person to join our team. This role involves operating HGV's for delivery, MoT testing, collection, as well as providing general assistance around the premises. The ideal candidate will possess a strong driving background, particularly in commercial driving, and be capable of undertaking manual tasks as needed. Duties
- Safely operate HGV vehicles for the transportation/collection to various locations.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule, adhering to relevant road safety regulations.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections prior to journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Provide general handyman support around the site, including light maintenance and organisational tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle logs in accordance with company policies.
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with HGV or similar vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving.
- Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, with a focus on punctuality and professionalism.
- Ability to handle manual tasks efficiently, including lifting and organising cargo.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- A valid UK driving licence suitable for HGV or similar vehicles is essential.
