ABOUT THE ROLE
LHG Brewpub is located on the river at the historic Finzels Reach in Bristol. We are a 2-bar, 3-floor, 450-person capacity pub with 46 tap lines and adjoining brewery, showcasing the very best of Left Handed Giant beer, alongside a pizza offer served from our own kitchen.
We are looking for an experienced Venue Manager to take full operational leadership of the Brewpub, unifying our bar, kitchen and events/functions operation into one high-performing team.
This is an active, floor-led role. You will be visible during peak trade, particularly Thursday to Saturday evenings, setting pace and standards, while holding overall accountability for financial performance, people development, events delivery and compliance across the whole building. You will also work closely with the Director of Venue Operations and wider company leadership, bringing ground-level insight into the business as readily as receiving direction, and always operating with the wider company's targets and priorities in mind.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Creating and maintaining an industry-leading venue, with world-class service and standards at the heart of everything you do
- Providing one clear operational vision for the Brewpub, unifying bar, kitchen and events/functions into a single, high-performing team
- Holding overall accountability for building-wide performance, including turnover, gross profit, wages and guest experience
- Leading, developing and giving honest, constructive feedback to your management team and wider staff
- Setting the pace and standard on the floor during peak trade, while planning and executing across all strands in harmony
- Working in close partnership with senior leadership, bringing ground-level insight and judgement into the room as much as receiving direction
- Ensuring that the venue is compliant with all laws and regulations through all aspects of operation.
- Championing LHG's ethos, values and brand presence, and driving a culture of continuous improvement across the venue
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
You will be:
- Organised, decisive and calm under pressure
- An inspiring leader who can bring teams together across departments
- A confident trainer, capable of building and developing great teams and empowering them to operate autonomously.
- Commercially sharp and comfortable managing financial targets and data
- A genuine driver of change with the presence and authority to lead a large team
- Passionate about delivering an exceptional guest experience every shift
You will have:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years in a senior management role within a high-volume, multi-departmental hospitality venue
- Experience managing multi-department or multi-floor operations
- Solid food and beverage knowledge across both front and back of house
- A track record of developing and retaining people
- Experience planning & executing events, functions or private hire
- A genuine passion for good beer, food and hospitality
- A valid Personal Licence
- Food Safety Level 3, First Aid accreditation and Fire Safety Level 3 desirable but not essential
