- Act as the senior technical authority for complex engineering decisions and architectural challenges.
- Influence technical direction across multiple engineering teams, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with platform strategy.
- Partner closely with the Director of Engineering to align technical strategy with product delivery and business objectives.
- Drive long-term platform scalability, resilience, performance, and operational excellence. Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement.
- Help shape and maintain the organisation's technical roadmap.

- Develop and operate cloud-native AWS serverless solutions.
- Design, optimise, and maintain PostgreSQL data models and queries.
- Support engineering teams in breaking down and delivering complex technical initiatives.
- Lead by example through high-quality software design, coding standards, and engineering practices.
Engineering Excellence & Mentorship
-
Mentor senior engineers and technical leads, helping raise technical capability across the organisation.
- Drive engineering excellence through coaching, design reviews, technical leadership, and knowledge sharing.
- Champion modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, observability, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and cloud-native architectures.
- Support the adoption of AI-assisted development practices where they provide meaningful value.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning, technical curiosity, and pragmatic decision-making.
- Encourage collaboration across engineering, product, and operational teams to deliver high quality outcomes.
What We’re Looking for:

- Experience designing and operating solutions on AWS.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and data modelling.
- Proven ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- A passion for mentoring engineers and helping teams succeed.
